Yelp Elite Soiree

The pandemic put a pause on a lot of things and Yelp Elite events were some of them. Back in the good old days Yelp elite events were both big and small, big holiday or Halloween bashes where almost the entire elite community would gather to celebrate and taste samplings of many restaurants all gathered at one amazing place like The OC Zoo or the Madame Tussaud's Hollywood for a private event closed off to the public and some were intimate dinners- groups of 10 having dinner at a restaurant, our own private little Q and A with the owners learning about the location, the chefs, where the food came from etc. Then hit the pandemic and the events came to a halt and when eventually events started back up, it was mostly just a takeout order or a solo dine-in invite as we were not allowed to meet up with others. Last week was the first Yelp Elite gathering I've been to since pre-2020 and it was so great to see old friends again.

The Yelp Elite Soiree "Passport to the French Quarter" was hosted in the charming little courtyard "The French Quarter" located in Canoga Park right off Ventura Blvd. This courtyard is home to several spas and unique little shops. We got to visit them all in our own little scavenger-hunt-style event. We collected a stamp at each location as well as useful self-care tips, samples and drinks they were pouring at each location. When we filled up our card we turned it in to be entered into a raffle at the end. The raffle prizes included baskets from the local shops, facials, free microblading and more.

Meanwhile in between stops at the different businesses, we were treated to unlimited samplings of Two doughs pizza, Ice cream from Pops Artisinal Creamery and refreshing drinks from the bar Bowtie Bros Bartending - They served up some brews from 818 Brewing and wine and Topo Chico.

There was also a fun photo booth by Diamond Mirror Photo Booth and It was just an overall good time - like a family reunion with people who all have a passion for good eats and discovering new places.

I had no idea this little gem of beautiful architecture was hidden on Ventura Blvd and since the event, I have already been back to one of the spas for a hydro facial. This is just another of the many benefits of Yelp elite events discovering new businesses I otherwise wouldn't have known about. Looking forward to more Yelp Elite Events this year!

If you are an active Yelp user and contributor and want to be a Yelp elite or know someone who deserves to be a Yelp elite all you have to do is nominate them or yourself to get in.
