Just a few weeks ago I visited Pearl Social in Santa Barbara's Funk Zone and fell in love with this charming little bar. It's a hidden gem, I should say, a pearl in the beautiful oyster that is Santa Barbara. They serve up delicious craft cocktails at a shockingly moderate price.
It's the perfect place to grab some pre or post dinner drinks. Here's what I ordered.
Accident in Paradise: $12
Tequila Pineapple, cilantro, mint, cucumber, lime, fire water
The only accident is the price. A craft cocktail in a place like this is never under $18 so I was astounded by the $12 price tag, but you won't hear me complaining. This one might be a little too easy to drink, think green juice for this cocktail. You may forget your at a bar having drinks with friends and just sip right through four of these before remembering you're having tequila. It's a very well balanced drink.
The Bird is the Word $13
Mezcal, pineapple, campari, lime, salt
Another great one. You can't go wrong with this sweet and smoky treat!
The Giving Tree $14
Elyx Vodka, calvados, all spice dram, cider, ginger beer, lime
I usually stick with mezcal, tequila, whiskey and bourbon for my cocktails,
but this spicy cidery drink was calling my name. Think warm spicy mule, it was the perfect drink for the fall season.
And I could leave without trying a whiskey cocktail so I had an off menu goodie. Ax (our bartender) mixed up a nice whiskey cocktail with an in house made fig syrup and it was as excellent as the others and just perfect for a November night out.
