Finding things to do with kids can be kind of tough sometimes, but that's why the holiday season is my favorite time of the year to attend events. I get to attend great family events like Chill at the Queen Mary which just opened up this weekend!
Chill is fun for all ages offering guest all types of fun starting with the most popular exhibit the Ice Kingdom. The Ice Kingdom is filled with clear and colorful ice sculptures, all hand carved and then preserved in refrigerated dome that's nine degrees, RIDICULOUSLY COLD TEMPERATURES - I WARN YOU. Lucky for us it's California - Just step outside to warm up if you get too cold. No need to come dressed in big parkas for this event because the parkas are provided for you at the entrance of the Kingdom, I DO recommend you bring gloves though because my poor hands suffered through the entire experience, but once your inside enjoy the incredible detail of the sculptures and slide down the ice slides.

After exiting the the Ice kingdom run over to the Glacier Glides to bring your body back to normal temp - grab a tube and walk up those stairs and that'll get you back to normal.
Then walk the grounds and enjoy some of the other things Chill has to offer like a visit with Jolly Old Saint Nick, the Gingerbread Man, the captain bear or even the captain himself, catch a live performance, ride the giant rocking horse, have some bouncy house fun, or visit the enchanted garden. If you have kids at least 36" tall try the new Yeti hunting paintball experience ($10 fee for this). Lastly end the evening with an ice skating session in the large ice skating rink with beautiful views of the lovely ship and her festive grounds ($15 includes skate rental).
